On February 21st, Pedro Moura-Alves hosted Dr. Zdenek Dvorak (Palacký University, Olomouc, Czech Republic) at i3S. During his visit to i3S, Dr. Dvorak, a well-known researcher who pioneered the concept of targeting xenoreceptors with microbial metabolite mimicry as a drug discovery strategy, delivered a seminar titled “Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor targeting with allosteric and orthosteric ligands” that captivated many attendees.
Dr. Dvorak presented his research on the therapeutic targeting of AHR with allosteric modulators. In sum, this visit successfully fostered interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange.
